Emergency Shelters

St. Leonard’s Community Services assists individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness and in need of emergency shelter.

If you, or someone you know, does not have anywhere to stay and are in immediate need of shelter, please call the Emergency Sheltering Intake Line at 1-888-621-0034 or email housing@st-leonards.com.

Intake services to the emergency sheltering system are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Effective February 1, 2024, in-person, walk-in services can be accessed at the times and locations below:

  • During regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 12 Market Street, Brantford
  • On evenings and weekends, Monday to Friday, after 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 331 Dalhousie Street, Brantford

Women and children fleeing family violence or abuse

Nova Vita Women's Shelter provides safe emergency shelter for women and children. You can reach them by phone at 519-752-4357 (24-hour crisis line).

Youth aged 15 to 19

St. Leonard’s Station House provides support to youth aged 15-17 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You can reach them by phone at 519-758-9644. 

Adult men

  • The Salvation Army Booth Centre provides emergency shelter for adult men. You can reach them by phone at 519-753-4193.

  • Rosewood House provides emergency shelter for adult men and adult women. You can reach them by phone at 519-750-1547.

St. Leonard’s Cornerstone House provides support to individuals aged 18-29 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You can reach them by phone at 519-758-9644. 

A number of Community Supports are also available for those experiencing homelessness, including  ID Clinics, Health and Well-Being Services, and Housing Supports.
