Notice of Study Commencement

Transportation Master Plan – 2025 Update

The City of Brantford (City) is initiating an update of the 2020 Transportation Master Plan (TMP). The TMP Update will reconfirm the City’s investments in transportation infrastructure in the coming years, in consideration of updated population growth projections and a continued focus on sustainable transportation solutions. The goal of the TMP is to ensure the transportation system can accommodate future growth forecasts through the provision of a transportation system that accommodates automobiles, transit users, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The TMP Update is being undertaken in accordance with Approach #1 of the Master Planning process outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023, and 2024), which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act.

A key component of the process will be public consultation. Throughout the process there will be opportunities for First Nations, agencies, stakeholders, and community members to provide input and comments to aid in the development of the TMP Update.
