Come Around to a New Downtown

As part of the Downtown Brantford Project and the City’s plan to create a more attractive and sustainable core that supports increased economic development and growth, we are excited to initiate a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for Downtown Streetscaping.

The Downtown Streetscaping EA will focus on finding solutions to improve walkability, accessibility, and underground infrastructure to allow for additional development, enhance the infrastructure for all transportation modes, and increase pedestrian capacity. The area of study includes Colborne Street and Dalhousie Street from the junction, extending to Brant Avenue and Icomm Drive. It also captures the connecting north/south streets between this area including Brant Avenue, King Street, Queen Street, Market Street, Charlotte Street, and Clarence Street

We want to hear from you

Through the Downtown Brantford Project, the City is aiming to create a more attractive and sustainable core that supports increased economic development and growth. We are excited to hear your thoughts about what is important to you and what you would like to see in a new Downtown. Public engagement and community feedback are a key part of the study so we will be reaching out to hear from you, our residents, throughout this process. The New Downtown Survey closed on November 20, 2020. We thank you for your feedback, and the results will be posted to this page shortly.

Virtual Public Information Centre 1 - November 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City is hosting this first Public Information Centre (PIC) virtually, to provide an overview of the project, including the EA process, potential cross sections for feedback, and evaluation criteria. In addition to the following video, a transcript of the video content and the entire PIC boards are also available for review.

In addition to the following Question and Answer Town Hall video, a transcript of the video content and the presentation slides are available for review.

Your feedback is important to us!
