Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition Announces 2025 Inductees

BRANTFORD, ON – The Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition (Sports Hall), in partnership with the Sports Hall Selection Committee and Alliance Board, is pleased to announce this year’s Class of 2025 Inductees.

The following individuals will be honoured at the annual Sports Hall Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 and will be showcased in the Sports Hall, located inside the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre:

• Liz Hart – Inductee, Athlete: Basketball
• Suzanne Paulins – Inductee, Builder: Swimming
• Jennifer Kirby – Inductee, Athlete: Golf
• Mike Filer - Inductee, Athlete: Football
• Scott Rex – Honouree, Builder: Hockey
• Brian Smiley – Honouree, Builder: Sports Journalism

The 2025 Sports Hall Induction Ceremony will take place at the Best Western Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Those interested in attending are strongly encouraged to RSVP online by Monday June 2, 2025 to sportshall@brantford.ca.

About the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition

The Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition, located inside the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, proudly recognizes both Athletes and Sport Builders in Brantford, the County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation who have achieved the highest standards of excellence in their chosen sport. The Sports Hall features various artefacts and memorabilia displays honouring the hometown heroes that have contributed to sport in their communities. The 3,000 sq. ft. space features the Wayne Gretzky tribute area with mini theatre highlighting memorable moments from the Great One’s career, an Interactive Inductee Zone, Wall of Recognition, Trivia Game and Broadcast Booth.
