Brantford residents cautioned about risks related to construction practices involving driveways
BRANTFORD, ON - Brantford residents should be aware of questionable construction practices related to driveways. The City has noted cases of residents hiring contractors who fail to obtain the necessary permits when working in the right-of-way.
The City of Brantford requires a right-of-way activity permit for anyone, including utility companies and contractors, performing work within city streets. Obtain this approved permit online through the City of Brantford’s website before starting any work.
It is the responsibility of the homeowner to ensure that the proper permits are in place prior to any construction work taking place. Approved permits are issued by email, and homeowners can request that their contractors provide them with a copy of the permit before the work begins.
For information on Right-of-Way Activity permits, visit Brantford.ca/RightofWay or contact Customer Service at 519-759-4150.
