Brantford’s construction activity ramps up for 2021

BRANTFORD, ON – Today, the City released its January 2021 Report on Construction Activity demonstrating a construction value of $11.110 million for 47 building permits issued.

“The start of the 2021 construction year has continued to build off of the strong numbers attained in 2020,” said Andy McMahon, Chief Building Official and Director of Building Services, City of Brantford. “Staff are optimistic that these strong figures will continue to provide high levels of activity for the remainder of the year.”

The largest increase occurred in the Residential (Accessory, Alterations, Additions) sector of construction. A total of 32 building permits were issued with a total construction value of $6.021 million. Increases also occurred in the Industrial sector of construction with a construction value of $2.280 million.
