Brantford’s construction activity remains strong

BRANTFORD, ON – Today, the City released its June 2020 Report on Construction Activity demonstrating a construction value of $7.703 million for 139 issued permits. Increases were seen in the Commercial and Institutional and Government sectors.

The largest increase occurred in the Commercial sector of construction with 7 building permits issued for Commercial projects, with a total construction value of $0.717 million, compared to 6 building permits issued with a construction value of $0.309 million in June 2019.

A significant increase also occurred in the Institutional and Government sector of construction, with a total construction value of $0.277 million, compared to a total construction value of $0.030 million in June 2019.

The City’s year-to-date construction value of $151.272 million is almost double last year’s total of $80.383 million for the same period. For the year, a total of 569 building permits have been issued in Brantford.
