City announces the return of Scare in the Square

Scare in the Square

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Government of Ontario through the ReConnect Program, is pleased to announce that Scare in the Square will be returning to Harmony Square, 89 Dalhousie Street, on Friday, October 1 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 2 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. All programs are free (with exception to roller skate rentals). Pre-registration is required for all activities, with limited spots available. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place.

“This year’s event will look a little different than previous years, but will continue to offer some of your past favourites as well as some new exciting activities,” says Jennifer Middleton, Coordinator of Special Events for the City of Brantford. “We’re grateful for the support of the Government of Ontario through the Ontario ReConnect Program Festival and Events Grant which has helped make this possible.”

Activities include Drive-in Haunt Movie Night (17+), character meet and greets, 80’s-themed and zombie roller skating, Casper’s Craft Corner, HOWL-o-ween Dog Parade, costume contests, Mad Science workshops and much more! Registration opens on Brantford.ca/RecConnect Monday, September 20, 2021 at 8:00 a.m.

Additional activities include:

  • Virtual guided ghost hunt adventure with the Ontario Paranormal Society at the Myrtleville House Museum. This event will be pre-recorded. Register online beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, September 20.
  • Drive-in Haunt Movie Night– Halloween (2018 film). Children under the age of 17 require an accompanying parent or guardian aged 21 years or older. Join us on Friday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Mohawk Park (51 Lynwood Drive) upper parking lot. Watch for scary visitors lurking in the dark around your vehicle. Pre-registration is required (one registration per vehicle) limited space available.  Audio information utilizing your vehicles radio will be provided upon arrival. This event is not intended for children under 17 years of age as the film contains adult content and is rated R. Parents are urged to learn more about the film prior to taking their child(ren) with them.
