City launches Creative Challenge for youth in recognition of National Public Works Week 2023

National Public Works Week 2023

BRANTFORD, ON – In recognition of National Public Works Week 2023, the City of Brantford is excited to announce the launch of the Public Works Creative Challenge for children 12 years of age and younger. The challenge invites young residents of Brantford to showcase their creativity and appreciation for the public works profession by submitting their own artistic interpretation of public works in their community.

The Public Works Creative Challenge aims to celebrate the essential role that public works professionals play in maintaining and improving the quality of life in our community. The challenge is an opportunity to showcase the diverse ways that public works impacts our daily lives.

To participate in the challenge, residents can visit LetsTalkBrantford.ca/NPWW23 to share photos of original artwork between April 20 and May 5, 2023, for the chance to win a special behind-the-scenes tour of our Wheels on the Pavement event to be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023. Winners will randomly be selected on Monday, May 8, 2023.

"We're very excited to launch this challenge for young residents and invite them to showcase their artistic talents while learning more about the important work that public works professionals do," says Inderjit Hans, General Manager, Public Works, City of Brantford. "Our community's infrastructure relies on the contributions of public works professionals, and we're eager to see how these young residents interpret their work through their creative expressions.”
