City of Brantford celebrates success of 2023 Healthy Aging Passport

Healthy Aging Passport

Brantford, ON – The City of Brantford celebrated another successful season of the 2023 Healthy Aging Passport, which saw over 1,000 older adults participate in 165 free programs that were offered by 22 community partners.

Between June 1 and September 15, 2023, the City of Brantford’s community partners hosted a wide range of free programs for adults 55 years and older including chair yoga, pottery classes, Power of Attorney presentations, painting workshops, digital literacy courses, and more. These activities gave older adults the opportunity to learn new skills, connect with various community resources and services, and build social connections.

“We’re grateful to our community partners and the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program who helped make this year’s Healthy Aging Passport possible,” says Courtney Lebel, Community Development Coordinator, City of Brantford. “With their help, over 1,000 older adults in our community were able to take part in free educational, social and recreational activities this summer.”

The City of Brantford would like to extend sincere thanks to the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program for partly funding the Brantford’s Seniors Community Summer Project (BSCSP), which resulted in this year’s 2023 Healthy Aging Passport.

The City would also like to thank the many community partners who helped make the 2023 Healthy Aging Passport possible:
