City of Brantford city facilities 2024 Family Day holiday schedules

New City Hall

BRANTFORD, ON – For the public’s information, the following schedule changes will be in place during the upcoming Family Day holiday on Monday, February 19, 2024. There will be no changes to regularly scheduled garbage, recycling and green bin collection.

Brantford City Hall and Customer Service

Brantford City Hall and Customer Service will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16 and reopen on Tuesday, February 20 at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be routed to the City’s after-hours provider that can be reached by calling the City’s Customer Service number at 519-759-4150.

Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift

  • Brantford Transit: no service
  • Brantford Lift: no service

The following facilities are open on Monday, February 19, 2024:

  • Bell Homestead NHS: open regular hours
  • Brantford and District Civic Centre: open regular hours
  • Lions Park Arena: open regular hours
  • Mohawk Street Landfill site: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

To participate in aquatics, fitness or skating programming, visitors must have a current valid membership or pay regular admission rates which can be found at www.waynegretzkysportscentre.ca. Fitness classes will not be offered on February 19, 2024.

  • Length Swim from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Family Day Public Swim from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (waterslide and aquatic climbing wall closed)
  • Family Day Public Skate from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Weight room: open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition: open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (admission is free)
  • Indoor track: open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Discover Brantford Desk: closed

The following facilities are closed on Monday February 19, 2024:

  • Beckett Adult Leisure Centre: closed
  • Branlyn Community Centre: closed
  • Brantford Public Library (Main Branch and St. Paul Branch): closed
  • Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre: closed
  • Parking Enforcement Office (located in City Hall): closed
  • T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre: closed
  • Discover Brantford Desk (located within Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre): closed
  • Woodman Park Community Centre: closed
  • Ontario Works Brantford – Brant Main Office at 225 Colborne Street (relocated from 220 Colborne Street): closed

Family Day activities

The City of Brantford offers a variety of fun activities for the upcoming Family Day holiday weekend. A free DJ Skate Party at Harmony Square, tours at the Bell Homestead for a special $2 rate, and a special Family Day Public Swim and Skate at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre (regular admission rates apply). In addition, Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis invites residents to the Family Day Skate in partnership with the Brantford Bulldogs that includes free family-friendly activities.
