BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is pleased to announce new and FREE virtual online programs for older adults beginning Monday, March 1, 2021. The new program called Art Your Service, allows older adults to stay connected while having fun and learning new activities.

“We are thrilled to offer this new and exciting platform to older adults in Brantford,” says Lori LaFrance, Supervisor, Beckett Adult Leisure Centre. “While we miss seeing our community in-person, this is an excellent opportunity to stay active and connected to others from the comfort and safety of home.”

Art Your Service brings fitness, creativity, community and connection right into the home for adults who are 50+. Activities include daily fitness, movement and creative classes like Chair Yoga, Gentle Movements, Painting Classes, Music Therapy, Song and Dance, Socials and Trivia. To register for free, email the Beckett Adult Leisure Centre at balc@brantford.ca or call 519-756-3261 ext. 5569. More information about program specifics can be found at www.artyourservice.org.

In addition to the Art Your Service program, the City continues to offer Healthy Aging Without Walls, a free interactive telephone-based program that connects older adults with others from the comfort of their own home. Older adults can call in to participate in trivia, health and wellness seminars, or discussion groups. Healthy Aging Without Walls provides opportunity to learn something new and make meaningful friendships.
