City’s permit activity remains strong in February

BRANTFORD, ON – Today, the City released its February 2021 Report on Construction Activity demonstrating a construction value of $10.359 million for 53 building permits issued.

“We are very confident that the permit numbers and construction value will continue to increase dramatically in the coming months,” said Andy McMahon, Chief Building Official and Director of Building Services, City of Brantford.

The largest increase occurred in the Industrial sector of construction. A total of four permits were issued with a total construction value of $5.216 million. An increase also occurred in the Duplex, Triplex, Fourplex (New) sector with a construction value of $1.551 million for three permits issued.

Other noteworthy permits issued in February include a permit for construction of a superstructure for Hershey Canada Inc. at 140 Oak Park Road with a construction value of $5 million as well as 36 permits issued in the Residential (Accessory, Alterations, Additions) sector of construction with a total value of $2.386 million.
