City seeks public input to inform 2022 City Budget Process

City budget campaign

BRANTFORD, ON: Municipal budget decisions have a profound impact on the daily lives of Brantford residents. From garbage collection, to public transit, to the safety of neighbourhoods, City budgets sit at the heart of residents’ quality of life and our community’s future.

As the City begins considering its 2022 budget, we want to hear from Brantford residents about what they think the City's 2022 budget priorities should be and what programs and services are most important to them. To help inform the City’s 2022 operating budget, the City is pleased to offer a series of input opportunities for residents to have their say about the 2022 City budget at LetsTalkBrantford.ca

Telephone Survey

In addition to a public survey that residents can complete at LetsTalkBrantford.ca, over the next several weeks, a number of Brantford residents will be randomly contacted to participate in a telephone survey whereby they will be asked to respond to a series of questions regarding level of satisfaction with City programs and services, and what they think the City’s budget priorities should be in 2022.

The introduction of a telephone survey is being provided in an effort to make the community surveying process more inclusive. Employing the process of simple random sampling (SRS) is a methodology that involves direct and real-time contact between researchers and participants, in this case via telephone interactions. This approach provides the ability to screen respondents (to ensure participants are residents of Brantford), clarify questions as needed, as well as providing an opportunity for residents who may not opt to participate in online forums to be included in the research sample.

2022 Estimates Committee Meetings

Meetings of the Estimates Committee will recommence on Wednesday January 5,  2022.  A schedule of meeting dates, times and agenda packages can be accessed on the City’s website at brantford.ca/CouncilCalendar.

Additional details regarding how residents can attend or view Estimates meetings will be shared in the coming weeks.
