Filming Notice – August 10-13, 2020

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome the cast and crew from Murdoch Mysteries to film scenes for an upcoming episode. They will be filming exterior spaces on the grounds of the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant and a portion of the S.C. Johnson Trail at Glenhyrst near the bank of the Grand River.

The film crew will be on site to prepare on Monday, August 10, and will be filming on Tuesday, August 11 from 7 am to 9 pm. The wrap-up day for filming will be Wednesday, August 12. The crew’s base camp will be located at the Polish Hall and the Polish Alliance Hall from August 10 to 12. If inclement weather is expected, these dates will be pushed back by one day.

The production will follow the COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for the Film and Television Industry in Ontario approved by the Ministry of Labour, Training, and Skill Development of Ontario. The production will also comply with health and safety protocols as directed by the Province of Ontario, the City of Brantford, and the Brant County Health Unit. The production will also adhere to its parent studio safety guidelines for cast and crew.

Set in 1908 Ontario, Murdoch Mysteries explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch (starring Yannick Bisson), who pioneers advanced forensic techniques to solve the most challenging crimes. Season fourteen of the Murdoch Mysteries will air on CBC.

Anticipated Impacts:

  • Tuesday, August 11 from 7 am to 9 pm (Rain date: Wednesday, August 12)
    • Intermittent traffic stoppages along the S.C. Johnson Trail at Glenhyrst near the bank of the Grand River.
    • The grounds at Glenhyrst will remain open; however, access will be limited to some parts during filming.
  • Monday, August 10 to Wednesday, August 12 (Rain dates: Aug 11 to 13)
    • Glenhyrst will remain closed to vehicular traffic during the duration of the filming.

No excessive noise is planned between the hours of 11pm and 7am.
