Filming Notice

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome back the cast and crew from Matheson 3 to film scenes for an upcoming episode of their Netflix television series. The production will be filming exterior shots on Golf Rd. on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31, 2021 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The crew will also be on site on August 29 and September 1 to dress the set and wrap-up.

Golf Rd. will be closed, with exceptions for local traffic only, from Powerline Rd. to Governors Rd. from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31. The production plans to shoot a high speed driving scene followed by a chase through the adjacent forest on filming days. A filming notice will be distributed to affected residents and businesses in the vicinity. Paid Duty Officers will be on site at all times.

Throughout the pandemic, commercial film and television production, including all supporting activities such as hair, makeup and wardrobe, is allowed if productions meet the restrictions outlined in the “Film and Television Industry Health and Safety during COVID-19” document issued by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. Further details about permitted Media Industries activities are available on the Province of Ontario website. The production will also comply with all health and safety protocols as directed by the Province of Ontario detailed in S63 of O. Reg. 82/20, the City of Brantford and the Brant County Health Unit.

Anticipated Impacts

  • Road Closure: Golf Rd. (between Powerline Rd. and Governors Rd.) from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30 and Tuesday, August 31
  • Lane Closure: On Golf Rd. (south of Powerline Rd. and north of Paris Rd.) a lane will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 29 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1 to accommodate setup and cleanup as well as having equipment stationed for filming.
  • Special Effects:
    Use of drone camera
    Travelling rigs will be used to capture high-speed driving
  • No excessive noise is planned between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

The production base camp will occupy the lot at 141 King George Rd.

About the Production

Matheson 3 tells the story of three siblings and their father’s mysterious death. They move with their mother into their ancestral home, which is full of magical keys that they believe are connected to their father’s death.
