Filming Notice – February 14 – March 11, 2022

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome the cast and crew from Ruby Road to film scenes for upcoming episodes of a television series. The production will be filming exterior scenes in Victoria Park as well as on streets in the vicinity of Victoria Square, including Wellington St., George St., Darling St. and Dalhousie St.

The film crew will be on site to prepare from February 14 to February 28, 2022. The production will be filming from March 1 to 3 from 4:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily, with weather hold over for March 4, 2022. The wrap-up days for filming will be March 5 to March 11, 2022. The crew’s base camp will be located in the Earl Haig Family Fun Park and Brantford and District Civic Centre parking lots.

A large group of cast and crew will be on site around Victoria Square to complete the filming sequence from March 1 to 3. Crew members will be filming a scene involving cast members and background performers. Set-up times on filming days will begin between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 am pending a noise exemption permit.

Throughout the pandemic, commercial film and television production, including all supporting activities such as hair, makeup and wardrobe, is allowed if productions meet the restrictions outlined in the “Film and Television Industry Health and Safety during COVID-19” document issued by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development. Further details about permitted Media Industries activities are available on the Province of Ontario website. The production will also comply with all health and safety protocols as directed by the Province of Ontario detailed in S63 of O. Reg. 82/20, the City of Brantford and the Brant County Health Unit.

Parking Lane Occupancy:

  • Wellington St. (Market St. to George St.); George St. (Nelson St. to Dalhousie St.); Darling St. (Market St. to George St.); Market St. (Nelson St. to Darling St.) from 7:00 a.m. on February 14 to 7:00 a.m. on February 28.
  • Nelson St. also serving as East/West bus route (Market St. to Clarence St.); George St. (Chatham St. to Nelson St.); Charlotte St. also serving as North/South bus route (Chatham St. to Dalhousie St.); Wellington St. (Charlotte St. to Clarence St.); Darling St. (Charlotte St. to Clarence St.), Market St. (Nelson St. to Darling St.) from 7:00 a.m. on February 28 to 11:00 p.m. on March 6.
  • Wellington St. (Market St. to George St.), George St. (Nelson St. to Dalhousie St.), Darling St. (Market St. to George St.), Market St. (Nelson St. to Darling St.) from 11:00 p.m. on March 6 to 11:00 p.m. on March 11.

Full Road Closure (local traffic only as coordinated, no access around Victoria Park): George St. (Nelson St. to Dalhousie St.) from 7:00 a.m. on February 21 to 11:00 p.m. on March 7; Wellington St. (Market St. to Charlotte St.) from 7:00 a.m. on February 23 to 11:00 p.m. on March 6; and Darling St. (Market St. to Charlotte St.) from 7:00 a.m. on February 25 to 11:00 p.m. on March 6.

Intermittent Traffic Stoppages (expect delays):

  • Market St. at Nelson St., Wellington St. and Darling St. for filming from 7:00 a.m. on March 1 to 11:00 p.m. on March 4.
  • Dalhousie St. at George St., and Darling St. at Charlotte St. for vehicle access from 7:00 a.m. on March 1 to 11:00 p.m. on March 4.
  • Dalhousie St. at Market St., Colborne St. (and Market St.) at the Brantford Public Library, Icomm Dr. at Market St. South for pedestrians from 7:00 a.m. on March 1 to 11:00 p.m. on March 4.

The areas above will be reserved as noted. Filming and related activities on public property have been reviewed and approved by the City of Brantford’s Economic Development and Tourism Department. Any intermittent traffic stoppages/controls and road closures will be conducted under the safe supervision of the Brantford Police Service. In and out access for affected local residents as well as business owners, employees and customers can be coordinated.
