FILMING NOTICE: MAY 6-8, 2024

Recognizing how welcoming film contributes to short-term economic investment, cultural development, and civic-pride in the community, the City of Brantford Economic Development, Tourism & Cultural Initiatives Department is pleased to host the cast and crew of Sagia. They will be filming interior and exterior scenes at 55 Dalhousie Street, Queen Street (Darling to Colborne), and George Street (Darling to Dalhousie).

The story follows an Washington D.C. detective’s tangled investigations in the US Capital and other US cities.

Film crews will be on location between May 1 and May 9. Principal filming will occur from May 6-7 along George Street. and on May 8 along Queen Street.

Filming will include simulated collisions with picture vehicles, action sequences including uniformed actors with prop weapons, and atmospheric smoke. Brantford Police Service and Brantford Fire are aware of these activities. Road closures will be conducted with the presence of Brantford Police Service on filming days.

American Flags at 100 Wellington will be flown for this project.

The production will notify residents and businesses in the area. Residents and businesses displaced can reach out to the contact identified at the bottom of the circulated notification letter. Support vehicles will be parked at Earl Haig and Civic Centre parking lots.

ROAD AND SIDEWALK CLOSURE:

  • Queen St. (from Colborne to Dalhousie) and west alleyway from May 1 at 7 a.m. to May 9 at 11 p.m.
  • George St. (from Dalhousie to Darling) on May 6 at 7 a.m. to May 7 at 11 p.m.
  • Queen St. (from Dalhousie to Darling) from May 8 at 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC CLOSURE:

May 6-7 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. with short closures up to 5 minutes each:

  • Dalhousie St. about 40m east of George St
  • George St. and Darling St. intersection

May 8 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. with short closures up to 5 minutes each:

  • Dalhousie St. about 40m east of Queen St.
  • Colborne St. about 40m west of Queen St.
  • Dalhousie St. and Market St. intersection if traffic backs up to Market St.

THROUGH LANE CLOSURE:

  • Dalhousie St. (south lane, 40m east of Queen and 40m west of Queen) on May 8 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
