Filming Notice – September 11-12, 2019

The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to welcome the cast and crew from Awake Picture Productions Inc. to film scenes for an upcoming Netflix project. They will be filming exterior scenes around the intersections of Colborne St., Queen St. and King St. in downtown Brantford. The film crew will be on site to prepare on September 9 and 10 from 7am to 7pm, and will be filming on September 11 from 12pm to 4am. The filming will be wrapped up by 7pm on September 12.

Anticipated Impacts:

  • Intermittent traffic control on September 11 on the following streets:
  • Colborne St. from King St. to Queen St. (12pm-6pm)
  • Queen St. from Dalhousie St. to Darling St. (12pm-6pm)
  • King St. from Colborne St. to Dalhousie St. (6pm-4am)
  • Road closures on September 11 on the following streets:
  • Queen St. from Colborne St. to Dalhousie St. (12pm-4am)
  • Alleyway between King St. and Queen St. (12pm-4am)
  • King St. from Colborne St. to Dalhousie St. (12pm-6pm)
  • Colborne St. from King St. to Queen St. (6pm-4am)
  • Queen St. form Dalhousie St. to Darling St. (6pm-4am)

Street lights along closed roads will be manually turned off by Brantford Power on the morning of September 11 and will be turned on September 12 at 7am.  Affected streets will remain under Police supervision until dawn or until lights are turned back on.

Paid Duty Officers from Brantford Police will be onsite during all closures to ensure public safety and limit access to only local residents. 

No excessive noise is planned between the hours of 11pm and 7am. 

Production vehicles will be parked within road closures and in the lot on the southeast corner of King St. and Dalhousie St. Crew will begin reserving parking spaces on September 10 at 6pm with cones. 

Special Advisory

A scene will involve the breaking of special effects glass along Queen Street.  This will involve a single bang similar to a firecracker sound. Brantford Police have been notified of this special effect.
