BRANTFORD, ON – Brantford’s youth won’t have to wait for the snow to melt before they dust off their boards and have the opportunity to practice their favourite tricks in a safe indoor location.  Starting Wednesday March 10th, Woodman Park Community Centre will feature an indoor sk8 park for children and youth 10-17years of age. There will be timeslots available for 5-10 years and 11-17years, registration is FREE and EASY.

The Indoor Sk8park at Woodman Park Community Centre, located at 491 Grey St. in Brantford opens  Wednesday March 10th, 2021 with strict COVID-19 protocols in place. Pre-registration is required through Brantford.ca/RecConnect. Registrants must bring their own scooters or skateboards (longboards are not permitted) and helmets must be worn at all times. Knee, elbow, and wrist guards are highly recommended. Equipment will not be supplied or loaned at this time. A maximum of 10 skaters at a time is permitted.

“With limited structured recreational opportunities currently available for children and youth, the City has been looking for safe and creative ways to provide youth programming and services”, said Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “Our neighbourhood rinks were widely used this winter but now that the warmer weather is upon us, we’re excited to offer young people an opportunity to enjoy some of their favourite spring/summer activities indoors for the time being.”

The indoor skatepark is a Freshpark System which was purchased in 2014 by the City of Brantford through a grant received from the Province of Ontario Community Sport and Recreation Fund.
