BRANTFORD, ON: On October 31, 2022 the City of Brantford confirmed that the sale of a portion of the former Arrowdale Municipal Golf Course at 282 Stanley Street in Brantford was final. 32 Acres of the 49 acres were sold to Elite M.D. Arrowdale Holdings Inc. for a total purchase price of $14,000,000. Proceeds of the sale have been allocated to affordable housing within the City of Brantford and tax revenues generated from the redevelopment of the Arrowdale property will be transferred annually into a reserve fund dedicated to affordable housing initiatives to help support our community’s most vulnerable residents.

Arrowdale Community Park

In 2019 City Council also directed that 17 acres of the lands be retained for a community park that will be accessible to the public year-round. As a Community Park, this unique recreational space will be the largest park to be built in Brantford in 100 years, and given its scope and scale, will service both the immediate neighbourhood as well as the broader community. Plans within the park include 2 dedicated fenced areas for dogs – one for large dogs and one for small dogs.

Dog park to open March 1, 2023

Today, the City is pleased to announce that the large dogs dog park, located on the south side of the property along Elgin Street will be open to the public on Wednesday March 1st. This area has been cleared during Archaeological Investigations conducted last year and we are excited to offer this new park amenity. The “small dog” park will open in the spring when ground conditions in this area are suitable.
