New provincial guidance on Proof of Vaccination requirements to access recreational facilities

March 1

BRANTFORD, ON – Consistent with the provincial announcement on February 14, 2022, beginning Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the City of Brantford plans to lift public health measures such as proof of vaccination and capacity limits at all indoor public settings. Face coverings in indoor public settings and physical distancing requirements remain in place, with exceptions for those who are participating in specific recreation programs. Until March 1, 2022, the City will continue to enforce the current requirements for proof of vaccination QR codes and identification.

Residents that visit any City of Brantford facility are encouraged to conduct a self-health assessment for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the building. Those who are experiencing symptoms are asked to not visit the facility until their symptoms have subsided.

The Province of Ontario has also expanded booster dose eligibility to youth aged 12 to 17. To book your vaccine appointment, please visit the Brant County Health Unit’s website at www.bchu.org or Ontario’s online booking portal at covid19.ontariohealth.ca. You can also book your COVID-19 vaccine appointment through participating pharmacies at covid-19ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
