Planned exterior lighting improvement project to begin at City Hall

City Hall

BRANTFORD, ON – Contractors will be on-site at Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street, to make required upgrades and additions to the exterior lighting of the building starting October 26, 2022 with the project expected to take eight weeks. The planned enhancements to the exterior lighting of the building, as well as the addition of casting lights will improve visibility of City Hall at night, illuminate the sidewalks in the area and emphasize the architectural features of the heritage building including the columns, bell tower, copper roof details and façade. The casting lights will also be periodically illuminated in different colours for special City-hosted celebrations, recognized holidays, proclamations and awareness events.

The streets adjacent to City Hall will remain open during the project, however, some street lanes may be closed temporarily while still allowing traffic to pass safely during the project. Scaffolding may also be used by the Contractor throughout the project, access will remain for the front entrances of City Hall. Public access to City Hall will not be impacted during this time.

The exterior lighting project is a capital project that was planned to be completed after the occupancy of City Hall. This will add ceremonial lighting and improved security lighting around the facility.
