Sanderson Centre Celebrates Culture Days by offering local artists free demo recordings

BRANTFORD, ON – The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce that the theatre will be offering up to 16 solo artists or groups (8 members or less) one free demo recording in celebration of Culture Days on October 8 and 9, 2022.

Artists who live in Brantford, the County of Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River are eligible to participate and are encouraged to fill out the online application form detailing their technical requirements. All applications will be reviewed by a panel of City staff members representing the Sanderson Centre, Tourism Brantford and Harmony Square, will judge based on artistic quality, access to other recording resources and timeliness of response. Applications are due no later than Friday, September 16 at 4:30 p.m. Successful applicants will be notified the week of September 26 to 30, 2022. Artists will be assigned one 30 to 45-minute block of time between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on October 8 and 9, 2022 to rehearse and record one song.

“Culture Days is a Canada-wide celebration of arts, culture, and heritage, and that is why the Sanderson Centre is pleased to create opportunities for local artists who don’t have the technical or financial resources to produce a professional demo recording,” says Kara Davey, Manager of Tourism, Culture and Sport, City of Brantford. “The public will also be invited to participate in this event as audience members. Details will be announced on the Sanderson Centre website and social media.”
