The City and Devon Down NA host the Grand Opening Playground Celebration at Devon Down Park

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford in partnership with the Devon Down Neighbourhood Association, is excited to announce the Grand Opening Playground Celebration at Devon Down Park, located at 70 Abigail Avenue on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The free event will include fun games, children’s entertainment, refreshments and treats, while supplies last, and ribbon cutting ceremony at 7:30 p.m. In addition, families can enjoy a free outdoor movie screening.

"The Devon Down Neighbourhood Association can't wait to meet with friends and neighbours as we celebrate the official grand opening of our new park," says Sean McAfee, Devon Down Neighbourhood Association Rink Chair. "It promises to be an exciting evening filled with music, food, fun, games, and of course, an outdoor movie to follow!"

New park features include new junior play equipment designed for children ages 2 to 5 and senior play equipment designed for children ages 5 to 12 with swings and sand play area. In addition, three new benches, a log chair, accessible paved pathways and 12 additional new shade trees were included in the park design.

The free celebration will include children’s activities and entertainment, refreshments and treats, while supplies last, and official ribbon ceremony at 7:30 p.m. with Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis and Ward 2 Councillors John Utley and John Sless. Starting at 9:20 p.m., families are invited to bring their lawn chairs and/or blankets and enjoy an outdoor movie screening of The Bad Guys, sponsored by The Crew Real Estate. On-site parking is available.
