The City of Brantford offers plenty of fun over the Family Day weekend

Cartoon family ice-skating for 'Family Day Fun'

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is thrilled to announce a variety of family-friendly activities in celebration of the Family Day holiday weekend. Enjoy the free DJ Skate Party at Harmony Square, take a tour at the Bell Homestead National Historic Site (NHS), and head to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre to enjoy a special Family Day Public Swim and Skate. In addition, the Mayor’s office invites residents to a Family Day Skate presented by the Brantford Bulldogs with free family-friendly activities.

“The Family Day holiday is a great opportunity to take a break and enjoy spending time with family and friends,” says Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “The City is pleased to be able to offer a variety of fun activities for all ages to enjoy throughout Brantford.”

Free DJ Skate Party in Harmony Square (weather dependent)

Enjoy the free DJ Skate Party with a live DJ playing tunes you’ll be sure to love from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Harmony Square (89 Dalhousie Street). The outdoor ice rink will be open for families to enjoy from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Bell Homestead NHS Family Day Tours

Pre-book your family for a guided tour of Alexander Graham Bell’s home at the Bell Homestead NHS for the special admission price of only $2 per person on Monday, February 19, 2024. Children four and under are free. Tours can be booked between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by calling 519-756-6220 or by emailing bellhomestead@brantford.ca. Tours will not be available from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The Henderson Home is currently undergoing renovations and will not be open for tours at this time.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Public Swim and Skate

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre will be offering a special Family Day Public Swim and Public Skate from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for all ages to enjoy on Monday, February 19, 2024. Regular swim rates and swim admission requirements will apply for the swim. Admission for the Public Skate is $4.30 per person or free for children ages four and under. Helmets are recommended for skating. Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre facility membership holders can swim and skate for free, pool membership holders can swim for free.

Family Day Skate

Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis invites residents to a Family Day Skate presented by the Brantford Bulldogs on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Brantford and Area Civic Centre (79 Market Street South). Residents are invited to take part in a variety of free family-fun activities from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. including; ice-skating, character meet and greets, and delicious hot chocolate, while supplies last. The lounge and concession will be open to purchase additional snacks and beverages. Doors open at 5 p.m. for ticket holders of the Brantford Bulldog’s game on February 19, 2024, and at 5:30 p.m. to the public.
