BRANTFORD, ON – On Monday, April 17, 2023 at 10 a.m., Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis will raise the Brant Regional Association of Volunteer Administrators (BRAVA) Flag at Harmony Square, 89 Dalhousie Street, to officially recognize the week of April 16 to 22, 2023 as National Volunteer Week in Brantford. This year’s theme, Volunteering Weaves Us Together, celebrates the individual and collective actions of volunteers that help in creating a strong, interconnected and vibrant community.

“The City is honoured to recognize the meaningful contributions of the many volunteers that add to the vibrancy and wellness of our community,” says Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “We are grateful for their time, talent and energy that help to create a stronger community for generations to come.”

For National Volunteer Week, the City of Brantford, in partnership with BRAVA, will host a Volunteer Recognition Celebration at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts on April 24, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. City of Brantford and BRAVA volunteers will enjoy an evening of live music in recognition of their valuable contributions. For tickets, you can email volunteer@brantford.ca or call 519-759-4150 ext.5509. Please note that to attend, you must have volunteered with the City of Brantford or a BRAVA affiliated organization in the past year. As well, the City will feature and highlight the contributions of local volunteers each day of the week on the City’s social media platforms using the hashtag #VolunteerBrantford.

Volunteers strengthen the fabric of our community. Volunteering is a great way to connect with others, create positive change, enhance professional growth, earn community volunteer hours and more.
