Making spirits bright with the return of the Brantford Santa Claus Parade

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is pleased to announce the return of the Santa Claus Parade with presenting corporate sponsor, GrandBridge Energy. Join the fun on Saturday, November 26 for an evening filled with fantastic holiday spirit and Santa Claus.

“When the City learned that the JCIs did not have the capacity to independently operate the parade as they have in the past, the City immediately took action to see what we could do to make it happen,” says Brian Hutchings, Chief Administrative Officer, City of Brantford. “This is a beloved tradition in our community and we are one of the few cities that offer an evening parade. I am so proud of all the City staff across multiple departments who came together so quickly and are committed to putting on a fantastic Santa Claus Parade in Brantford this year.”

The parade theme this year is “Making Spirits Bright” which aims to spread holiday cheer and bring the community together again to celebrate after two years without a parade. The parade will make its way downtown on Dalhousie Street at 6:00 p.m. starting at Stanley Street and ending at Harmony Square where the annual Holiday Carnival and parade after party will begin. The public is encouraged to line the streets early to save a spot for optimal viewing.

“A very sincere and heartfelt thanks to the JCIs who have organized the Santa Claus parade for over 40 years and have continued to be an integral part of the planning process for this year’s event,” says Lori-Dawn Cavin, Manager of Community Recreation and Events, City of Brantford. “We are also grateful to the organizations and businesses who have already offered their support through sponsorship and look forward to receiving many parade float entries in the coming weeks.”

Businesses and organizations that are interested in sponsoring the Santa Claus Parade event this year are asked to call 519-759-4150 or email sponsors@brantford.ca by November 8, 2022. Sponsorship packages can be reviewed on the City’s website www.brantford.ca/santaclausparade. To participate in the parade fleet, an application is available online at the same address at www.brantford.ca/santaclausparade and must be submitted by November 21, 2022.
