Brantford Transit launches BT Connect mobile app
BRANTFORD, ON –Brantford Transit is excited to announce the launch of BT Connect, a new mobile app designed to simplify the way residents pay for bus fares. Available for download starting today, BT Connect offers a convenient, cashless option for purchasing and managing fare products directly from your mobile device. Starting May 5, 2025, residents can download the app, purchase adult fare products, and immediately begin scanning the barcode on their phones on bus validators to pay for trips. Customers eligible for senior fares should visit the Brantford Transit Terminal sales kiosk with supporting documentation for verification. After successful verification, customers can purchase senior fare products and conveniently pay using their mobile devices.
Reduced fare options will also be available through BT Connect beginning May 20, 2025. These include child, student, and Canadian National Institute for the Blind fares. Customers who qualify for reduced fares are invited to visit the Brantford Transit Terminal sales kiosk starting May 20 to verify their eligibility with supporting documentation. Once verified, they will be able to purchase reduced fare products and pay directly from their mobile devices.
BT Connect is an account-based app available on both Android and iOS platforms. It allows users to purchase fares quickly and securely using a credit card. The app supports the full range of existing fare options, including pay-as-you-go single fares, monthly passes, and all other current fare types. Designed with convenience in mind, BT Connect includes built-in trip planning tools, route maps, and schedules to help riders navigate the Brantford Transit system more efficiently. BT Connect is free to download and use, with no additional fees for credit card transactions.
On June 2, 2025, the sale of current fare products, including the B-Card, will be discontinued. However, existing fare products will continue to be accepted for payment until further notice. For those who prefer not to use the app, physical BT Connect cards will be made available for purchase at the Brantford Transit Terminal sales kiosk. Details about the full transition to the new system will be announced in the coming months.
