Welcome the holidays at the Bell Homestead NHS’s upcoming events

BRANTFORD, ON – Residents and visitors are invited to welcome the holiday season at the Bell Homestead National Historic Site (NHS) while helping to support future events and programming at the museum.

The Holiday Bake Sale will take place on Saturday, November 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Pre-orders are now open for those who’d like to purchase delicious homemade cookies at only $10.00 per dozen and squares, tarts and biscuits at $10.00 for a half a dozen.

“We are so grateful to our team of talented bakers and volunteers who spend hours in the kitchen making delectable treats for the annual Bake Sale,” says Brian Wood, Curator, Bell Homestead NHS. “Proceeds from the sale help bring future free and low-cost activities and events to the community at the Bell Homestead.”

The popular Candlelight Christmas Celebration returns on Saturdays December 3, 10 and 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tours will take guests on a one-hour tour of Bell’s home and the Henderson home decorated in Victorian style amid the soft glow of candles and oil lamps. Seasonal music will be played in the drawing room, there will be treats offered in Eliza Bell’s kitchen and a Christmas scavenger hunt for children. Admission is by donation and pre-registration is required with limited spots available. Tours can be booked, up to a maximum of eight guests, by emailing bellhomestead@brantford.ca or by phone at 519-756-6220.

One-hour pre-booked Holiday Tours of Bell’s home and the Henderson home decorated for the season is also available during the day Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tours can be booked, up to a maximum of eight guests, by emailing bellhomestead@brantford.ca or by phone at 519-756-6220. Limited tours are available.

The Exchange Café and Phone Booth Museum Store will be open for all events to enjoy a snack or to purchase a last-minute souvenir or gift.
