Emergency child care available for school-age children of eligible workers

BRANTFORD, ON: As per the Ontario government’s Safer at Home Restrictions, full-day licensed child care for school-age children will be available at no cost for parents/caregivers who meet the criteria as essential eligible workers,

To be eligible for emergency child care for school aged children:

1. Child must have been enrolled in school as of December 31, 2020

2. Parent must live or work in the City of Brantford or the County of Brant

3. Parent must have no other child care option for that period of time

4. Parent must be meet the eligibility requirement as directed by the Province of Ontario

Parents may apply for Emergency Child Care online through OneLIST. Emergency child care is not offered by all licensed child care operators and spaces will be limited.

In order for the space to be without cost, parents must also complete a registration process through the Children’s Services Fee Subsidy Program

EarlyON Child and Family Programs

EarlyON Child and Family programs will be offered in accordance with provincial direction.  During the lock down period (province wide shutdown and Level Grey) as well as during Red Level status, EarlyON services will include virtual Parent and Child programs, virtual Parent Chats, telephone and email support and EarlyON Videos on the EarlyON You Tube Channel.  All programs will be posted on the EarlyON Calendar and on the EarlyOn Facebook page

With active cases of COVID-19 in Ontario reaching a record high today, and the temptation to gather with family and friends this upcoming New Year’s Eve, the City of Brantford stresses that all residents and businesses need to remain absolutely vigilant by adhering to the provincial lockdown orders now in place to help keep our community safe and our local healthcare system from becoming overwhelmed.

  • Stay home as much as possible and avoid any close contact or social gatherings with others outside of your immediate household
  • Wear a face covering in public at all times
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Stay home if you are sick, even with mild symptoms
