The City of Brantford prepares to celebrate Canada Day with residents

Celebrate Canada Day with the City of Brantford

BRANTFORD, ON The City of Brantford, in partnership with Brantford’s Canada Day Celebration Committee, is excited to announce plans to celebrate Canada Day in a safe way that complies with the province’s public health guidelines. The official countdown to the variety of family friendly activities begins on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, with free, fun activities for the whole community, leading up to Thursday, July 1, 2021.

“The Brantford Canada Day Committee has been hard at work, creatively planning a series of engaging events for our community to celebrate in a safe way,” says Brian Beattie, Chair, Brantford’s Canada Day Committee. “While we can’t all be together as we have in past years, we can still celebrate and show our Canadian pride through a variety of different initiatives offered.”

The City is currently accepting video or audio submissions from local bands for a chance to be part of Brantford’s Canada Day virtual concert event on July 1, 2021, broadcasted from the beautiful Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts and sponsored by OLG. Three bands will be hired to have their performances filmed with all COVID-19 health and safety protocols in place. Entries will be accepted until Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. For details including an announcement of the headliner, and information on how to submit your band for consideration, visit brantford.ca/CanadaDay.
