Let's Get Moving

The City of Brantford is pleased to offer free activities to keep older adults aged 50+ moving this October. Free lunch will be provided and transportation to and from each event is available upon request. Space is limited and registration is required by emailing partnerships@brantford.ca or by calling 519-759-4150 ext. 5986 and leaving a message with your name, contact information and which activities you would like to attend.

Let’s Try Tai Chi – Tuesday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Learn about the Physical and Physiological benefits of Tai Chi for older adults and join us for a beginner Tai Chi class.

Let’s Try SAFE ZONE Fitness – Tuesday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

T.B Costain - SC Johnson Community Centre (16 Morrell St, Brantford)

Join us for an exercise program designed by health professionals to assist seniors in the community to remain independent, by focusing on strength, agility, flexibility and endurance.

Registration deadline October 13th.

Let’s Try Chair Yoga – Tuesday, October 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre (333 Erie Ave, Brantford)

Join us for a gentle and accessible yoga sequence that will stretch and waken tired joints and muscles all with the support of a chair. An emphasis on movement connected with breath makes this class soothing and helps to calm a busy mind.

Registration deadline is October 20th.

Let’s Get Exercising at Home – Monday, October 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Woodman Community Centre (491 Grey St, Brantford, ON)

Join us to learn how to complete a simple, full body exercise program that you can do in your own home! The program will focus on strengthening muscles to help make those activities of daily living a little bit easier, while discussing the importance of exercise and how to modify them based off your individual abilities.
