Let's Learn Together

Youth and older adults (ages 50+) are invited to participate in the FREE Let’s Learn Together series that offers monthly pop-up programs at various city facilities in 2023. The programs aim to encourage participants to build new skills and develop personal connections with other residents from different generations. Limited space is available for each program and registration is required. 

Let’s Learn Gardening Together – Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Let's Learn Gardening Together, offered in partnership with Equal Grounds Community Gardens, will take place at Doug Snooks Community Centre (333 Erie Ave.). Accompanied children, youth, and older adults (50+) are invited to plant seedlings to take home and learn more about plant care, gardening, and the community gardens that are overseen by Equal Grounds Community Gardens. There will also be garden-themed colouring activities for younger participants.

 Let’s Learn Pottery Together – Thursday, May 11 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Let’s Learn Pottery Together, offered in partnership with Smak Dab Pottery, invites youth to collaborate on a pottery project alongside their grandparent or older adults aged 50+. This event is open to youth aged 9 to 18, as well as older adults aged 50+ and takes place at Smak Dab Pottery (432 Colborne St.). Dinner will be provided.

  Let’s Learn Pottery Together – Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Let’s Learn Pottery Together, offered in partnership with Smak Dab Pottery, invites accompanied children and youth to collaborate on a pottery project alongside their grandparent or older adults aged 50+. This event is open to children ages 4 to 8, alongside their grandparent or guardian at Smak Dab Pottery (432 Colborne St.). Lunch will be provided.

 Let’s Learn Indigenous Games Together – Saturday, June 17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Let’s Learn Indigenous Games Together, offered in partnership with Onkwehonwe Games, invites youth ages 5 and older along with adults aged 50+ to learn about the history and culture of the Six Nations of the Grand River through traditional Indigenous games. This event will take place at TB Costain Community Centre (16 Morell St.).
